What You Get From Your Cataract Free Assessment
Is Blink Vision A Good Fit For You?
You're In The Right Place If...
Your vision is changing and nobody has given you a clear answer.
Maybe it's the haze that won't go away. Maybe it's the halos around headlights at night. Maybe it's holding your phone further away every month. You've noticed it. The people around you have noticed it. You need someone to look at your eyes and tell you exactly what's going on.
You're tired of working around the problem instead of fixing it.
Readers in every room. A stronger prescription every year that stops working six months later. Avoiding night driving when you can. Sitting closer to the TV. Holding the menu at arm's length. You've been adapting for so long it feels normal. But it's not. And you don't have to wait for it to get worse.
You've been told cataracts are forming and you're not sure what to do next.
Your optometrist flagged it. You've been wondering whether it's "bad enough" to act on. The truth is, if it's affecting your quality of life, it can be fixed now. The consultation exists to give you a clear answer and a clear plan.
You want to trust your surgeon but every clinic sounds the same.
"Advanced technology." "Personalised care." "Premium lenses." You've heard it all. It all sounds identical. What you haven't heard is a clinic say, "If it's not the right time, we'll tell you." We will. That's the difference between a consultation and a sales pitch.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I know if it's time to do something about my vision?
If your vision is affecting your daily life, whether that's reading, driving, or just feeling like things aren't as sharp as they used to be, it's worth getting assessed. You don't have to wait for it to get worse.
What happens during the Cataract Free Assessment?
We run comprehensive diagnostic scans, then sit down with you face to face. We explain what's happening with your eyes, walk you through your lens options in plain English, and give you an honest answer on whether surgery is right for you.
How do I know if I'm a good candidate?
If you're over 50, your vision is declining, and you're either tired of depending on glasses or your optometrist has flagged early cataracts, you're likely a good fit. The consultation exists to confirm that. No referral needed to apply.
What are the different lens options?
There are three main types: Monofocal, EDOF (extended depth of focus), and Multifocal (full range). Each has different strengths depending on your lifestyle. We'll explain the tradeoffs and recommend the best match for how you actually live.
What if surgery isn't right for me?
Then we'll tell you. That's the whole point of the consultation. You'll walk out with a clear picture of where your eyes stand and a plan for what to do next, even if that plan is to wait.
I've already tried stronger glasses and they stopped working.
That's common. Glasses correct how light enters the eye but they can't fix a clouding lens. At some point the problem isn't the prescription. It's the lens itself. That's when surgery becomes the conversation worth having.
I don't have a referral. Can I still book?
Yes. No referral is needed to apply for the consultation. You complete a short application below, our team reviews it, and we book you in. The whole process takes under 60 seconds to start.
What happens after I apply?
Our team reviews your application and contacts you within one business day to book your consultation. You come into our Barton clinic for scans and a face-to-face appointment. The whole visit takes around an hour.
How much does it cost and is any of it covered?
Approximately $14,000 for both eyes. That covers hospital, surgeon, lenses and anaesthetist. Medicare and health fund rebates may apply if visually significant cataract is present. Payment Plans are available through TLC. I'll give you the full breakdown in your consultation.
